Daniel McShane became the Glasgow Road Club’s fastest man in history, clocking 21:07 at the Inverclyde Velo ‘10’ held on the West Ferry course today. He bettered George Cowan’s 12 year old record by 3 seconds. With a low-tide and near perfect weather conditions, two riders went under the magic 20 minute mark and many other riders posted personal bests. Graham Barron and Scott McIntosh also rode well in clocking 22:31 and 25:42, respectively.

Euan Pope and Barry McGurk took 5th and 6th places overall, respectively, in the Moray Firth 2-day stage race, which was won by time trial specialist Silas Goldsworthy of Sandy Wallace Cycles. Euan also showed good strength and tactical awareness to claim a fine victory in the King of the Mountains competition, beating Granite City Racing Team’s David Anderson by 2 points.
